Why You Should Update Your Photos After High School

For a lot of people, their last professional photos were taken during their senior year of high school. After that, life gets busy with college, internships, and new experiences. Suddenly years have passed without updated photos.

That’s why I love “just because” photo sessions, like this one we did on the beautiful campus of Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

College is such a unique season of life. You’re growing, discovering new passions, meeting lifelong friends, and stepping into the person you’re becoming. It’s a chapter that deserves to be documented just as much as senior year.

This session was relaxed, natural, and completely focused on capturing personality. Instead of stiff poses or formal setups, we walked around campus, found beautiful pockets of light, and let the moments unfold naturally.

That’s the beauty of a “just because” session; there’s no big milestone required. Sometimes the best reason to take photos is simply that you want to remember who you are during this season of life.

If your last professional photos were from high school senior year, it might be time to update them.

New photos are perfect for:

  • Social media profiles
  • Graduation announcements
  • Personal branding or internships
  • Simply documenting your college experience

You don’t need a special reason to step in front of the camera, sometimes celebrating where you are right now is reason enough.
