This beautiful couple’s maternity session was for my brother and sister-in-law as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world. Getting the chance to document such a special chapter for my own family made the entire experience even more unforgettable.
We chose Afton Villa Gardens in St. Francisville, Louisiana as the location for their session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The historic garden ruins, towering oak trees, and peaceful pathways created a dreamy backdrop that felt both romantic and timeless.
One of the reasons I love photographing at Afton Villa Gardens is the variety it offers. From beautiful stone ruins to lush greenery and open pathways, every corner of the gardens adds something unique to a gallery. For maternity sessions especially, the location brings such a soft and elegant atmosphere that complements the excitement and emotion of this season of life.
As we walked through the gardens, my brother and sister-in-law naturally fell into their rhythm. Laughing together, sharing quiet moments, and soaking in the anticipation of becoming parents. Those candid interactions are always the moments that make photos feel the most genuine.
