Twenty-Three Years of Love: A Couples Session on Our Family Farm

Some photo sessions feel extra special — and this one will always mean more to me than words can fully explain.

My parents have been together for 23 years, and photographing their love on our family farm in Moreauville, Louisiana felt like capturing a piece of my own story. We didn’t plan anything elaborate. No props. No strict poses. Just the two of them, exactly as they are, surrounded by a place that holds decades of memories.

We took their photos around the tractors and equipment that have been part of our family’s everyday life for as long as I can remember. The setting was simple, honest, and deeply personal — which made it the perfect backdrop for their session.

What made this shoot so special was how effortlessly they showed up as themselves. They flirted with each other, cracked jokes, and laughed the entire time. Nothing felt forced. Every smile, every glance, every laugh was real. And those are always the moments worth capturing.

This session reminded me that love doesn’t have to be posed to be powerful. Sometimes the most meaningful images come from letting people exist together naturally — especially when the story is already written in years, hard work, and shared life.
