A Full-Circle Moment: My First Graduation Session at Louisiana State University of Alexandria

Some sessions are special because of the people in them, and others are special because they unexpectedly open new doors. This LSUA graduation session ended up being both.

I’ve known this sweet girl my whole life, so getting the chance to photograph such an important milestone for her made the session incredibly meaningful from the start. Celebrating graduation is always exciting, but capturing it for someone you’ve grown up alongside makes it feel even more personal.

This was also my very first session on the campus of Louisiana State University of Alexandria, and honestly, it completely changed the way I look at the location.

Before this session, I had never really considered LSUA as a photography location, but after walking the campus, I quickly realized how much variety it offers.

The beautifully landscaped areas, open green spaces, clean architecture, and natural light throughout campus created the perfect backdrop for portraits. One of my favorite things about the location is its versatility. Whether you’re taking:

As a Central Louisiana photographer, finding locations close to home that still offer variety is so important, and this session truly opened my eyes to all the possibilities LSUA provides.
