A Baton Rouge Senior Session Full of Family, City Views, and LSU Memories
Some senior sessions feel extra special because the people in front of your camera already feel like family, and this Baton Rouge senior session was exactly that.
Even though we technically aren’t related by blood, she has always felt like family to me because our siblings are married to each other. That connection made this session feel so natural from the start. Instead of it feeling like work, it felt like spending the evening celebrating someone I’ve watched grow up.
For her Louisiana senior session, we explored multiple locations around Baton Rouge, which gave the gallery so much variety and personality.
We started the session at the beautiful quad on the campus of Louisiana State University. The giant oak trees, historic campus buildings, and open green spaces created such a timeless backdrop for senior portraits.
There’s something about LSU’s campus that photographs beautifully in every season. Between the architecture and the classic Southern atmosphere, it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most popular locations for Baton Rouge graduation and senior photos.
The quad gave us those soft, classic senior portraits before we transitioned into a more modern and playful vibe later in the evening.
After LSU, we headed to Perkins Rowe, which completely changed the energy of the session in the best way.
One thing I love about Perkins Rowe senior sessions is the variety. Between the storefronts, string lights, textured walls, and city atmosphere, every corner offers something different. It gave the gallery a fun, stylish feel that contrasted perfectly with the classic campus portraits from earlier.
And honestly? One of my favorite parts of the session ended up being the parking garage.
The rooftop lighting, clean lines, and city views created such a fun editorial feel for her senior photos. It added a modern touch to the gallery while still keeping the session relaxed and natural.
Sometimes the most unexpected locations end up creating the best images.
This session was the perfect mix of meaningful and fun. Between the family connection, the variety of Baton Rouge locations, and the effortless energy throughout the shoot, it became one of those galleries that reminds me why I love senior photography so much.
From the oak trees at LSU to the city atmosphere of Perkins Rowe, every location helped tell a different piece of her story, and I’m so grateful I got to capture it.
